Highlights from Paris Photo 2025
Another year, another Paris Photo—and another spectacular edition. The photographers on display spanned a wide range of genres, but what I found especially inspiring were the artists who placed themselves at the centre of their work, creating custom props, sets, and costumes to bring their visions to life.
Mari Katayama was among the featured artists and delivered a captivating talk about her book and the meticulous process behind her practice. Bharat Sikka, another remarkable artist from India, showcased a unique approach: he fed his own photographs into an AI model trained exclusively on his imagery, using generative AI to reinterpret and recreate his work in compelling new forms.
I’m already looking forward to Paris Photo 2026, but before that comes Photo London at Olympia—a completely different experience. With a new, much larger venue, it promises a broader range of artists and, hopefully, an even more vibrant showcase of photographic talent.
